Dr. Ari Graff, Clinical Psychologist

I am a clinical psychologist in Chicago, Illinois. In my private practice, I offer 1-on-1 coaching for men and men’s groups. I incorporate my 15+ years as a therapist and neuropsychologist into my coaching approach. I have extensive experience working with individuals from different cultures and people who are neurodiverse and medically complex. I specialize in working with men with “nice guy” traits.  Some nice guy traits include people pleasing, conflict avoidance, hiding flaws, codependence, and repressing needs and feelings.

Coaching or a men’s group may be right for you if you are coping well but want to create a vision for your life, break through self-limiting beliefs and behaviors, build new habits, take the lead in your relationships and work, and reach new levels of growth. Reach out to learn more about how I can help.

What clients have told me:

Men tell me that they can share their pain with me, that they feel truly seen and understood, that I ask the questions that help them look deeply inside themselves, that I have a calming presence, that they feel connected to me, and that they can make crucial shifts in how they think and feel about themselves. While I have a serious demeanor, men tell me they appreciate me being down to earth and having a good sense of humor.

Training, Credentials, and Experience

In addition to being a clinical psychologist, I have advanced training and experience in neuropsychology and often incorporate this perspective to help clients with ADHD and other learning differences. For over 10 years I worked at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (formerly Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago), the premier rehabilitation hospital for people with severe neurological conditions, and I understand how people with disabilities can find satisfaction and success.  In 2021, I became a certified No More Mr. Nice Guy Coach and now specialize in coaching nice guys to be confident, masterful men.psychology everywhere badge
